Chestnut Featherweight 1950I was in Victoria yesterday looking at a Greenwood Canoe. Off to one side, sitting on a table, was the smallest canoe I’d ever seen, just 11 feet long, though a full 36″ in the beam. It turned out to be a Chestnut Featherweight. I’d heard about these canoes, and seen a few pictures but I’d never before laid eyes on one. The owner kindly let me take some pictures of it and I thought I’d share them with you. Notice, this one is setup for tandem paddling. I’ve never seen or heard of that before in a Featherweight. This one came from a kid’s summer camp, perhaps that’s the explanation.
